About

Emma Butler-Cole Aiken Photo Credit Linsey C Bell

Emma is a self-employed stained glass artist based in the Scottish Borders (previously Edinburgh). She has created around 75 commissioned works throught the UK.

Emma is captivated by the colours, textures and exuberant beauty of glass. Seeking magical combinations of image and material, she strives to reach beyond the ordinary to create unique works which stand the test of time. Discerning when to allow a particular colour to shine out unhindered and when to bring control and distinction is a continuous process, the choices of possible outcomes almost overwhelming. In this creative process her faith and light emerge.
